The Gifts That Keep on Giving with Matt Peiken
April 27th 7-9pm
Our characters, motivations and relationships aren’t fully developed the moment we step on stage. Ideally, we make discoveries during the course of our scenes about ourselves, our surroundings and the people we share the stage with—all informing and shaping who our characters become. In this workshop, geared for longform improv, we learn the concept and practice of giving and receiving gifts—quirks and traits, observations and moments of shared experience and history—that make our characters and relationships more dynamic. We’ll use Zoom to work together in a format putting lessons into practice through two-person scenework.
Matt Peiken – Matt Peiken graduated the school of improvisation of the Brave New Workshop, in Minneapolis, and has since performed in various troupes over the past 20 years in Minneapolis, Cincinnati and Asheville.
