Intro to Sketch Comedy Writing

$250.00

Everything is horrible right now. We’re all trapped in doors. Politics are toxic. The environment is burning. People suck… Which makes this the perfect time to write some COMEDY!

Intro to Sketch Comedy Writing is a great way to introduce new and veteran writers to the skill of sketch comedy writing. Through 8 weeks, students will be introduced to several sketch writing genres and styles for the stage. Each session will be run like a writer’s room where students will pitch, write, and re-write sketches. Your instructor will provide helpful personalized feedback based on years of experience, and you should leave with a packet of 6-8 finished sketches.

The class will conclude with a live reading of sketches by professional comedians from Los Angeles. This 8-week course meets for 3 hours.

Recommended: laptop or tablet, and script writing software (Final Draft, Writers Duet, Fade In, Cetlx)

Class Dates & Time: 6pm-9pm (ET) May: 26th June: 2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd, 30th July: 7th, 14th.
