Katie Jones

Director of Youth Programming

Katie Jones is an actor, improviser and director and has been an arts educator for the past 15 years. She has worked in the Educational Departments of major regional theatres such as Asolo Repertory Theatre, Northlight Theatre, and American Theater Company. Through those programs, Katie taught workshops in public schools, community centers, after-school programs and camps. She has also studied improv at I.O. Chicago and Second City and with Paul Sills (son of theatre innovator Viola Spolin).

Katie has an MFA in Performance from Naropa University and a BA in Performing Arts from Clemson University. Here in North Carolina, Katie performs and teaches with Asheville Creative Arts, teaches storytelling at Catawba Valley Community College, serves as Festival Director for the Asheville Fringe Arts Festival, and is an Artistic Associate at The Magnetic Theatre.
