Nope. We do not allow auditing of our classes.  However, we do have a free improv jam the last Thursday of every month from 7:30-10:00 pm where you can learn more about our improv program. Potential students are also encouraged to check out shows and showcases to see if it is something they might be interested in. Most of our performers are graduates of our Training Center.

Is there a student showcase? And, when will that student showcase be?
Each class participates in a showcase, which will be scheduled for the last week of classes. Showcases are scheduled and shared with instructors once the term has begun, typically in the 2nd or 3rd week of classes. If you know you might have a conflict with a potential showcase date, please share this with your instructor as soon as possible. While we cannot guarantee that we will be able to work around all of our students’ schedules, we do try to accommodate as best we can when scheduling showcases if given advance notice.

I have prior experience in improv/sketch. Do I need to start at Level 1?
Yes. All improv students, regardless of prior experience, begin with Improv Level 1 .

I have no prior performance experience. Will I be okay?
Absolutely! Our classes are geared toward students of all experience levels.

What are the benefits of being a Asheville Improv Collective student?
Besides mastering long-form Improv? While enrolled in classes, students are granted free admission to all student showcases and all AIC improve shows, unless otherwise stated.  Students also receive a 10% discount at High Five Coffee (you’ll have to show your student ID at check-out to receive the discount).

How can I guarantee my spot in a class?
Due to our limited class sizes, placement isn’t guaranteed until payment has been received prior to the first day of class.

What if I can’t pay all at once?
We offer a payment plan if you can’t pay the entire $150 tuition up front. You can put a deposit of $50 to secure your spot. Payment Plan tuition balances are due by the third week of class.  You’ll need to contact dana@aicasheville.com to discuss the payment plan and reserve your spot!

In addition to a payment plan, we also have an internship program that is available for students after they successfully complete Level 1. If accepted, the cost of your class is waived for working for AIC. For more information email .

There are no refunds. All sales are final. If you cannot attend the class you registered for, we can roll your tuition to be used during another session as long as you contact the Training Center 24 hours prior to the class beginning.
